Trader consensus on Polymarket prices the People Power Party (PPP) to win just 1 seat (41%) in the June 3, 2026, National Assembly by-elections, with 2 seats (26%) and 3 seats (21%) next, reflecting the party's weakened position amid internal divisions and candidate shortages following its break from former President Yoon Suk Yeol. Recent announcements by Rebuilding Korea Party leader Cho Kuk to contest Pyeongtaek B and ex-PPP leader Han Dong-hoon to run in Busan Buk-gu Gap have heightened competition in key races, alongside at least four confirmed vacancies from lawmakers seeking local posts. The Democratic Party's National Assembly majority (161 seats vs. PPP's 107) and PPP's nomination struggles in strongholds like Daegu further dampen expectations for a strong showing in these contests tied to nationwide local elections.
