Latest National Weather Service and private model consensus for Atlanta points to a Saturday high near 83–85°F amid scattered showers and thunderstorms, with 60–70% rain chances developing by afternoon. Abundant Gulf moisture and light steering flow favor cloud cover and convective cooling that caps peak readings, while any delayed or localized storms could allow brief afternoon clearing and push temperatures toward the upper 80s. This aligns with the September climatological average of 84.5°F but follows a recent cooling trend from early-month highs near 95°F. Market-implied odds cluster tightly around 84–87°F because small differences in storm timing and coverage create meaningful uncertainty in the observed daily maximum at official stations. Updated model runs and radar trends through Friday evening will be the key near-term drivers.
