Forecasts from National Weather Service and private models converge on a high near 100°F for Austin on September 13, driven by persistent southerly flow, abundant moisture, and mostly sunny skies that support strong daytime heating above the 91.6°F climatological average. This consensus underpins the market's heaviest weighting on the 100-101°F bin, with the 98-99°F range reflecting residual uncertainty from possible morning cloud cover or slight model cooling. Heat indices near 109°F highlight humidity's role in surface energy balance without altering the dry-bulb maximum. Historical precedent shows temperatures in this range occur several times per decade in mid-September, while the low probability assigned to 102°F+ aligns with the absence of stronger high-pressure ridging or downslope winds that produced the 102°F record in 2011. Updated model runs tomorrow morning will provide the final inputs before resolution.
