Forecast models from sources including the China Meteorological Administration and international ensembles indicate a daily maximum near 28–29°C for Shanghai on September 11, 2026, under mostly cloudy to overcast skies with light northeast winds and a modest chance of showers. These conditions limit daytime heating compared with clearer recent days, aligning with the market’s heavy weighting toward 28°C (45.5%) and 29°C (33.5%). Mid-September climatology for the region supports highs in this narrow band absent strong synoptic forcing, while model consensus on cloud cover and moisture reduces the likelihood of outliers above 30°C or below 27°C. Updated runs ahead of the 24-hour verification window will determine the final recorded peak.
