The Bauchi State gubernatorial election scheduled for February 6, 2027, features a fragmented field where Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar of the APC and Yakubu Adamu of the APM hold the strongest trader positioning among numerous declared candidates. Abubakar’s recent APC primary victory and prior term as governor contrast with Adamu’s record as outgoing commissioner for finance under the current PDP administration. Multiple parties, including PRP and others, have fielded contenders, diluting support and sustaining tight implied probabilities. Upcoming state assembly by-elections and local council polls may clarify turnout patterns and coalition dynamics ahead of the main vote. Late shifts in party alliances or candidate withdrawals could still reorder the race before ballots are cast.
