Pre-event forecasts from AEMET and ECMWF models projected maximums of 18-20°C under persistent cloud cover, light showers, and cool northerly flows channeling Atlantic air into central Spain, slightly below the early May climatological average of 22°C. This positioning reflects strong evidence from automated station measurements, with realistic challenges limited to rare post hoc data corrections for sensor anomalies or quality control revisions by AEMET.
