Recent forecasts from multiple models point to a high in Madrid on September 18 in the mid-to-upper 20s °C under clear skies and light northeasterly winds, consistent with a cooling trend after early-September warmth exceeding 34 °C. Trader positioning remains diffuse because small differences in peak afternoon heating, boundary-layer mixing, or slight model disagreements on wind speed can shift the daily maximum across the 27–30 °C range. Historical climatology shows late-September averages near 26 °C, but persistent high pressure and minimal cloud cover support the modest premium on 32 °C or higher. Updated runs from the European and global ensembles over the next 48 hours will likely narrow the spread ahead of resolution.
