Recent cooling from a high-altitude trough and weak cold air intrusion has brought rain and lower temperatures to Wuhan through September 18, setting up a rebound on the 19th as skies turn mostly cloudy with light northerly winds. Official forecasts from the Wuhan Municipal Meteorological Observatory project a high of 29°C under these conditions, while other models range from 28–30°C depending on the timing of cloud breaks and residual moisture. This narrow spread around 28–30°C explains the closely matched market odds, as small differences in daytime insolation or boundary-layer mixing could shift the daily maximum by 1–2°C amid typical late-summer variability.
