Traders see the lowest temperature in Austin on September 12 clustering near 74–79 °F because model guidance from the National Weather Service and European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts shows only modest overnight cooling under partly cloudy skies and light winds. Seasonal norms for mid-September place Austin’s typical low around 72–74 °F, but elevated dew points near 65 °F and a weak southerly flow are limiting radiational cooling, keeping most ensemble members above 74 °F. The tight spread among the top three bins (74–75 °F at 26.5 %, 76–77 °F and 78–79 °F each at 29 %) reflects small differences in cloud-cover timing and boundary-layer mixing that can shift the minimum by 2–3 °F. Updated short-range forecasts tonight will likely tighten or widen these probabilities before midnight local time.
