Recent National Weather Service observations for September 16, 2026, indicate a minimum temperature near 69°F at downtown Los Angeles, with Los Angeles International Airport reporting overnight lows in the upper 60s amid persistent marine layer influence. This coastal stratus and fog regime, driven by the typical September inversion and onshore flow, limited radiative cooling and kept readings above the 1991–2020 average low of 63.7°F. Trader sentiment remains closely divided across the 64–69°F buckets because official resolution depends on the precise station and hourly minimum reported by NWS, with small differences in timing or microclimate effects able to shift the recorded value. Updated climatological summaries and any final CF6 data releases will clarify the outcome.
