Current National Weather Service and private model guidance for Los Angeles on September 17 points to a minimum near 65°F under mostly clear skies after morning low clouds, driven by typical September marine-layer influence and light onshore flow from the west-southwest. This climatological baseline—historical average low around 63–64°F—positions the 68–69°F bin as the market favorite because small forecast revisions or station-specific readings at LAX or downtown can easily land in the upper 60s. The 55°F-or-below and 74°F-or-higher tails reflect low-probability scenarios of stronger cooling or unexpected warming, both inconsistent with the current stable pattern and ensemble consensus. No significant model shifts have occurred in the past 24 hours, keeping near-term uncertainty modest ahead of the overnight minimum.
