Latest official and model guidance for Shanghai points to an overnight low near 23°C on September 17 amid light rain transitioning to cloudy skies and light easterly to northeasterly winds. Persistent cloud cover and high humidity from the East China Sea moderate radiative cooling, keeping minimums above typical late-September values, while weak pressure gradients limit stronger cooling. Ensemble forecasts show a tight spread around 22–24°C, with small differences in overnight cloud timing and wind shifts creating the close 22°C versus 23°C contest in trader pricing. Official CMA outlooks align near the upper end of that range, though final resolution hinges on the 00–06 UTC observations.
