Recent National Weather Service and private model guidance shows Houston under persistent subtropical high pressure with southerly flow off the Gulf, supporting mostly sunny skies and a daytime high near 93°F on September 14 amid 40% afternoon thunderstorm chances. This aligns with late-summer climatology where typical highs reach the low 90s before seasonal cooling begins. Heat indices remain elevated due to humidity near 60-70%, but no major synoptic shifts or tropical influences are expected to alter temperatures significantly before Monday. Ensemble consistency across recent runs has kept the 92-93°F range as the most probable outcome, with limited upside risk from convective cooling or downside from increased cloud cover.
