Latest National Weather Service forecasts for Austin on September 14 project afternoon highs near 100°F under partly cloudy skies with southerly winds of 5–10 mph. This stems from a persistent warm, humid air mass with dew points in the low-to-mid 70s supporting strong daytime heating, though scattered afternoon clouds could cap peaks. Model consensus places the most likely range at 98–101°F, consistent with recent days’ observed maxima near 100–103°F and well above the 91°F September climatological average. Subtle differences between 98–99°F and 100–101°F outcomes hinge on exact cloud cover timing and boundary-layer mixing, with any increase in moisture or earlier convection favoring the lower bin. Updated model runs and NWS briefings ahead of the date will refine these probabilities.
