Trader consensus in the Houston maximum temperature market centers on the 86–89°F range, reflecting National Weather Service and private model guidance showing a likely daily high near 88–90°F on September 2 amid widespread cloud cover, scattered to likely thunderstorms, and southerly flow. Persistent moisture and afternoon convection—common in late-summer Gulf Coast patterns—limit surface heating despite seasonal norms near 89–91°F, with heat indices still projected above 105°F. Minor model spread in storm timing and coverage creates the tight 33%–30% split between the leading bins, while drier or earlier-clearing scenarios would be needed to push readings into the low 90s. Updated NWS briefings and next model runs later today remain the key near-term catalysts ahead of market resolution.
