This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by NOAA at the Benito Juárez International Airport Station in degrees Celsius on 1 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=mmmx If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source. To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to Metric Units" button until the relevant table displays °C. This market can not resolve until the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Celsius (eg, 9°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.**Recent forecasts for Mexico City on September 1, 2026, point to a maximum temperature most likely in the 23–25°C range, aligning closely with market-implied probabilities that place 24°C at 41.5% and 23°C at 24.5%.** Multiple models, including those from WeatherBug, Worldmeteo, and official Mexican sources, project highs near 23–24°C (around 73–75°F) under mostly cloudy skies with a high probability of thunderstorms and heavy rain (70–95% chance in many runs). This is typical for early September in the rainy season, when afternoon convection and cloud cover limit solar heating. Mexico City’s high elevation (~2,240 m) keeps baseline temperatures moderate even in late summer, with historical September average highs around 24°C. Persistent moisture from Pacific and Gulf inflows, combined with low-pressure channels, drives widespread cloudiness and precipitation that caps daytime peaks—often preventing readings above 25°C. Current model consensus shows no strong ridge or clear skies that would allow 26°C or higher (currently only 3.5% implied), while cooler outcomes below 22°C appear unlikely absent an unexpected cold surge. Traders are pricing in this rainy, convective pattern as the dominant driver, with fresh 48–72 hour guidance reinforcing suppressed maxima near the seasonal norm rather than extremes. Updated model runs closer to the date will be key, especially any shifts in storm timing or coverage that could alter afternoon temperatures.
