Recent Japan Meteorological Agency forecasts indicate a cloudy Saturday with scattered showers possible across the Kanto region, producing a daytime high near 22°C and overnight low around 19°C, though model spreads introduce notable uncertainty in minimum temperatures. Historical September normals place Tokyo’s late-month lows near 18°C, with day-to-night swings widening as seasonal cooling sets in. A strong ongoing El Niño event, with Niño 3.4 anomalies exceeding +3°C, favors warmer regional baselines overall, yet short-term steering patterns and rainfall timing remain the dominant variables that could push the daily minimum either below 15°C under persistent cloud cover or above 23°C if clearer, drier air arrives. Traders appear evenly split because the next 48-hour forecast updates and any revisions to precipitation timing will likely resolve the tight contest between the sub-15°C and 24°C-plus brackets.
