Imelda Castro Castro leads trader consensus in the Sinaloa gubernatorial race at 84.5% implied probability after her August 2026 designation as Morena-PT-PVEM coordinator for the 2027 election. National party leadership, including figures aligned with President Sheinbaum, selected her following an internal process with over a dozen aspirants and amid the political fallout from former governor Rubén Rocha Moya’s U.S. indictment and multiple leaves of absence. Castro’s registration in June, her distancing from the prior administration, and emphasis on continuity of the federal project have consolidated support within the dominant coalition. Lower-priced contenders such as María Teresa Guerra Ochoa and other listed names reflect residual internal competition or opposition prospects that have not shifted materially in recent months, while ongoing state security challenges and federal deployments have not altered the party’s structural advantage heading into the June 2027 vote.
