General elections to elect the 93 members of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia are scheduled to take place on October 24, 2026. This market will resolve according to the political party that wins the greatest number of seats in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia as a result of this election. If the results of the specified election are not definitively known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other". Parties will be primarily ranked by the number of seats won in the specified election. If two or more parties are tied on seats, ties will be broken by the total number of valid votes received, with higher vote totals ranking higher. If parties remain tied, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the listed party names. This market will resolve to the party that occupies the highest finishing position after applying this ranking. This market's resolution will be based solely on the number of seats won by the named party. A candidate will be considered a member of the party they contest the election under. This market will resolve based on the results of the elections, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. In the case of ambiguity, this market will resolve solely based on the results as reported by Elections BC (https://elections.bc.ca/).Recent polling shows the BC NDP holding a narrow lead over the Conservatives at 41% to 36% among decided and leaning voters as the snap election campaign begins, with the NDP stronger in urban areas and the Conservatives competitive elsewhere. Premier David Eby called the October 24 vote amid opposition disarray, including the recent resignation of Conservative leader Kerry-Lynne Findlay and subsequent defections, followed by reunification moves as CentreBC MLAs rejoined the Conservative caucus under interim leader Lorne Doerkson. These developments, combined with the short campaign timeline and regional voting patterns, underpin the market's implied probabilities favoring the NDP while leaving room for shifts based on voter turnout and final-week dynamics in key ridings.
