**David Eby holds the strongest position as the incumbent NDP premier who called a snap provincial election for October 24, 2026, citing the need for a mandate amid U.S. trade tensions.** This timing capitalized on recent turmoil in the BC Conservatives, where Kerry-Lynne Findlay resigned as leader on September 20 and Lorne Doerkson was named interim leader shortly after. Multiple MLAs who had left the party have since rejoined, consolidating the centre-right under Doerkson. Trader odds reflect Eby's governing advantage and the opposition's earlier disarray, while lower probabilities for figures such as John Rustad, Peter Milobar, and others align with their limited current visibility or roles outside the main contest. Upcoming campaign developments, including platform announcements and any further realignments among smaller parties like the Greens or OneBC, could still shift probabilities before election day.
