Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for Houston on September 11 points to partly sunny skies with a 50% chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms, supporting highs in the low-to-mid 90s amid high humidity and heat indices near 105°F. South winds of 5–10 mph and lingering moisture from recent convective activity are expected to limit full solar heating, keeping the daily maximum near the historical average of 90°F while allowing brief breaks that could push readings to 92–93°F if storms develop later. Recent days have featured similar patterns with observed highs of 94–96°F, but increasing cloud cover this week introduces modest uncertainty around peak temperature timing and intensity. Updated short-range model runs and local NWS briefings over the next 48 hours will refine these thresholds ahead of market resolution.
