Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for September 4 point to a typical early-September marine layer regime, with morning low clouds and fog giving way to sunny skies and southwest winds of 10–15 mph that limit inland heating. This setup favors a daily high near the 1991–2020 average of 76.7 °F at downtown or airport stations, consistent with the market’s 53.5 % implied probability for 76–77 °F and 32 % for 78–79 °F. Ensemble forecasts show little spread, with only modest warming possible if the marine layer thins earlier than expected; stronger onshore flow or delayed clearing would instead cap readings in the mid-70s. No significant heat-wave signals or offshore wind events appear in the latest runs, keeping probabilities concentrated around climatological norms.
