Current forecast models from the National Weather Service and private sources indicate Chicago's overnight low on August 24 will hover near the 64°F climatological normal, driven by typical late-summer high pressure, light winds, and minimal lake-effect moderation. Ensemble guidance shows limited spread, with most runs clustering between 62–66°F, though localized urban heat islands or brief radiational cooling could shift the precise minimum. This equilibrium explains the near-even market split between 66°F-or-higher and 47°F-or-below outcomes, as traders weigh small model divergences and historical precedent of occasional sub-60°F readings against the strong consensus for near-normal conditions.
