This market will resolve to “Yes” if any European Union (EU) member state withdraws from the EU by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. An EU member state will be considered to have withdrawn once they officially initiate their withdrawal and/or formally notify the European Council of their intention to withdraw, regardless of whether the withdrawal is finalized after this market’s timeframe. The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from the European Union and EU member states; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Strong domestic political consensus across EU member states underpins the 97.6% trader consensus on “No,” with no government currently advancing Article 50 withdrawal proceedings and public support for membership remaining robust in recent surveys. Brexit’s extended negotiations and economic frictions continue to serve as a cautionary reference, prompting even Eurosceptic parties in countries such as Germany, Poland, and Denmark to moderate or abandon explicit exit pledges in favor of internal reform or EEA-style arrangements. Recent statements from fringe or opposition groups in Poland and Germany have floated departure scenarios, yet these lack parliamentary majorities or scheduled referendums capable of triggering formal notification before the end of 2026. National elections scheduled for 2027 in several large member states represent the nearest structural window for potential shifts, though any resulting policy change would still face lengthy ratification and negotiation timelines. Late-breaking crises or coalition realignments could theoretically alter trajectories, but none appear imminent enough to overcome the current procedural and political barriers.
