Official National Weather Service forecasts project a high near 96°F in Atlanta on September 18 under sunny skies, driven by an anomalously strong mid-level ridge promoting subsidence and clear conditions that maximize solar heating. This setup follows several days of above-normal warmth, with recent model consensus showing minimal precipitation chances (around 20%) and light winds that limit mixing. Historical September averages near 83°F highlight the anomaly, though afternoon thunderstorm development could slightly cap the peak. These data align with trader positioning around the 94–97°F outcomes, as the latest guidance leaves limited room for significant downward revisions before the daily maximum is recorded.
