National Weather Service forecasts and ensemble model guidance indicate a high near 75°F for Chicago on September 10, driven by a cooler air mass advected by northerly winds following midweek showers and thunderstorms. This setup favors clearing skies and modest daytime heating, with surface temperatures peaking in the mid to upper 70s under partly to mostly sunny conditions. The market's tight clustering around 76–79°F reflects this consensus while accounting for minor uncertainties in exact maximum timing and boundary-layer mixing. Historical climatology places the long-term average high near 78°F, providing context for why traders assign low probability to extremes above 80°F or below 74°F absent significant forecast shifts. Updated model runs and NWS briefings over the next 48 hours will refine these temperature thresholds ahead of market resolution.
