This positioning reflects a sharp cooldown from early April's record-breaking warmth—peaking at 26.5°C in Kew Gardens on April 8, one of the hottest early April days in 80 years—driven by an incoming Atlantic low-pressure system bringing persistent cloud cover, drizzle, and moderating southerly flows that cap daytime heating.
