Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for coastal Los Angeles on September 22 centers on morning low clouds and fog from the marine layer giving way to sunny conditions, with afternoon southwest winds around 15 mph supporting highs in the mid- to upper 70s. This pattern aligns with typical September climatology near 76°F and keeps temperatures moderated compared to inland areas or later-week warming. Traders assign the tightest odds to 74-75°F and 76-77°F because small differences in fog clearance timing, sea-breeze strength, or model spread in the GFS and ECMWF runs can shift the daily maximum by a degree or two at official stations like LAX. Current forecasts cluster around 75-78°F, leaving limited room for outliers above 80°F or below 72°F absent an unexpected shift in onshore flow.
