Official forecasts from the National Weather Service and supporting models indicate highs in the mid- to upper-70s for New York City on September 2, driven by persistent onshore flow, widespread cloud cover, and showers that reduce solar heating and enhance evaporative cooling. This setup favors the market-leading 76-77°F and 74-75°F bins, consistent with current NWS point forecasts around 74-78°F amid humid conditions and 50-70% rain chances. Recent model runs show limited variability in steering patterns, keeping temperatures below early-September climatological norms near 80°F, though minor forecast adjustments could shift resolution if convection timing changes. Traders are weighting these near-term observational trends heavily given the short window to market close.
