This marks a sharp cooldown from the record 81°F set at KSEA on May 4 amid a brief upper-level ridge and downslope warming, as a marine layer deepened with low clouds (overcast at 1,900 feet) and southwest winds capped daytime heating, per ASOS data peaking at 62.1°F around 7-9 PM. While data revisions from quality control are possible but rare for automated stations, any challenge would require confirmed sensor anomalies or alternative official records. Traders await final quality-assured reports from NOAA for resolution.
