Current National Weather Service and model guidance point to overnight lows in the mid-70s for Austin on August 30, driven by a stable southerly flow advecting warm, moist Gulf air with dew points near 70°F that restricts radiational cooling under mostly clear skies. Light winds and high humidity further limit temperature drops compared with drier northerly patterns that historically produce cooler August nights. This setup places the expected minimum several degrees above the 1991–2020 average low of 71.6°F, explaining the tight clustering of market-implied odds around the 72–77°F bins while the 67°F-or-below outcome reflects residual uncertainty in any late-model shifts or localized variations. Final forecast adjustments from the National Weather Service before midnight will be the key near-term catalyst.
