Official observations from the National Weather Service recorded a minimum temperature of 80°F in the Dallas-Fort Worth area on September 14, 2026, under clear skies and persistent southerly flow. This elevated low resulted from strong warm advection, high dew points near 70°F, and limited nocturnal radiational cooling amid a prolonged late-summer heat pattern with daytime highs reaching 100°F. Trader sentiment remains closely split between the 78-79°F and 80-81°F brackets because of minor differences across reporting stations, rounding conventions, and the exact timing of the daily minimum, with negligible probability assigned to cooler outcomes given the absence of any frontal passage or atypical cooling mechanisms.
