Republican incumbent Gus Bilirakis holds a strong position in Florida’s 12th congressional district for the 2026 general election. Multiple nonpartisan ratings classify the Tampa Bay-area seat as Solid Republican, reflecting a partisan voting index of roughly R+7 and Donald Trump’s 14-point margin there in 2024. Bilirakis won re-election with 71 percent in 2024 and faces only token primary opposition, while Democratic primary candidates Darren McAuley and Kimberly Overman have not generated notable fundraising or polling traction ahead of the August 18 primaries. The filing deadline of June 12 has not produced a high-profile challenger, reinforcing trader consensus that the Republican nominee will prevail in November. No major developments in the past month have altered the district’s underlying partisan composition or candidate field.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
