Recent National Weather Service forecasts for Chicago O'Hare indicate a high near 87–88°F on September 4, driven by easterly flow off Lake Michigan that limits afternoon heating while increasing cloud cover and a 50% chance of morning showers and thunderstorms. This pattern follows a brief heat surge with 92–94°F readings on September 2–3 and favors upper-80s readings over the historical 80.1°F average. Model consensus shows modest uncertainty around exact cloud timing and lake-breeze strength, which can cap peaks near 85°F or allow brief pushes into the low 90s if clearing occurs earlier. Trader-implied odds cluster tightly around 86–89°F, reflecting these near-term atmospheric steering and moisture factors ahead of final verification.
