This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 3 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. This market will resolve once data for this date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.**Trader sentiment for Hong Kong’s September 3 highest temperature centers on 30–31°C, reflecting official Hong Kong Observatory forecasts of 25–31°C under mainly cloudy skies with one or two showers and brief sunny intervals.** Northwest winds of 4–5 (locally 6) associated with nearby tropical cyclone activity and the northeast monsoon are suppressing strong daytime heating while allowing limited warming during any clearer spells. Forecast models and recent observations show consistent highs near 29–31°C (roughly 84–88°F), aligning with early-September climatology where daily maxima average around 31°C but are tempered by frequent cloud cover and showers. The 42.5% implied probability on 31°C and 29.5% on 30°C capture this narrow band, with lower odds on 32°C+ reflecting the rain and wind limiting extreme peaks. Lower outcomes (29°C or below) receive modest support given the persistent moisture and moderate winds. Key near-term catalysts include the cyclone’s path and any updates to HKO or global model guidance on cloud cover and precipitation timing, which could shift the realized maximum within the 29–31°C window.
