This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the highest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 25 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Max (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the seventh day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket. This market will resolve once data for this date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the seventh day following the observation date, whichever comes first. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.**Official forecasts from the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) project a maximum of 27–32°C on September 25, 2026, under mainly fine, dry conditions with light east to southeast winds.** This range directly explains the market's tight clustering of implied probabilities around 25–27% for 28°C, 32°C, and 33°C, as traders weigh the exact peak within a narrow band amid model variability. The dominant driver is the gradual easing of the northeast monsoon, which has reduced cloud cover and moisture, promoting daytime warming through increased solar insolation and subsidence. Sea-surface temperatures near 27°C provide a baseline that supports highs in the low 30s, consistent with climatological norms for late September. A developing tropical cyclone east of the Philippines exerts minimal direct influence yet, though its outer subsidence could modestly enhance stability and temperatures if tracks remain distant. Model consensus (including multi-model ensembles) aligns closely with HKO guidance for low precipitation risk and partly cloudy periods, but small differences in boundary-layer mixing or wind direction can shift the daily maximum by 1–2°C. With resolution tied to the HKO's official urban maximum reading, traders are pricing genuine forecast uncertainty rather than a strong directional bias. Updated model runs and the next HKO bulletin represent the key near-term catalysts that could narrow the distribution.
