Forecast models and National Weather Service guidance point to an overnight low in the upper 60s°F for New York City on September 9, driven by a warm, humid southerly flow and partly to mostly cloudy skies that limit radiational cooling. Recent days have featured similar mild minima around 64–67°F under comparable conditions, with no strong cold advection expected. Small differences in projected wind speeds and cloud cover across model runs create the narrow spread between 66–67°F, 68–69°F, and 70–71°F outcomes, while higher thresholds remain unlikely without an unexpected shift in the steering pattern. Traders weigh these near-term forecast updates against historical September climatology, where Central Park lows average near 63°F.
