**Chung Tung-chin, the incumbent Miaoli County magistrate and KMT nominee, leads the market at 88.5% implied probability, while DPP nominee Chen Pin-an sits at 5.7% amid multiple lower-priced or placeholder options.** Miaoli remains a longstanding KMT-leaning county with no competitive pan-blue challengers, allowing Chung to consolidate support after rejoining the party in 2025 following his independent 2022 victory. Recent county polls show his approval rating at 75.6% with satisfaction exceeding 80% in areas such as social welfare, tourism, and agriculture, reflecting steady gains in governance metrics. The November 28, 2026, election timeline favors the incumbent, as candidate registration opens soon and historical patterns in similar deep-blue jurisdictions show high re-election rates for established local executives. Chen Pin-an, a Miaoli county councilor nominated by the DPP in late 2025, brings name recognition from local activism but operates in an environment where combined opposition strength has historically fallen short. Trader pricing aligns with these structural and polling dynamics while leaving room for late shifts from registration outcomes or campaign developments.
