Forecast models from the National Weather Service and others project a mostly sunny, hot day for Austin on September 2 with a high near 100°F under south to southeast flow, consistent with the current late-summer heat pattern exceeding the 94°F climatological average. Afternoon heating supports potential scattered thunderstorms that could limit peak temperatures if clouds and showers develop earlier than expected, introducing uncertainty between the 98–99°F and 100–103°F ranges dominating trader probabilities. Low-level moisture and weak steering winds keep outcomes closely matched, with any shift in convective timing or model consensus on maximum heating likely to drive near-term adjustments.
