Current National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance for Houston points to an overnight low in the mid-70s on September 2, driven by high dew points near 75°F, light southerly flow, and widespread cloud cover that limits radiational cooling. This aligns with climatological norms for early September, when the average daily minimum at Hobby Airport is 75°F amid typical Gulf moisture. Scattered showers and thunderstorms expected during the day may further moderate nighttime temperatures without introducing cooler air masses. Trader consensus around 74–75°F reflects these stable late-summer conditions, with lower probabilities assigned to 72°F or below absent a stronger frontal passage or drier air intrusion. Updated model runs and official NWS briefings remain the key near-term catalysts.
