Official observations from Los Angeles International Airport, the primary NOAA station for city records, recorded a daily maximum of 80–81°F on September 12, 2026, aligning with the market's near-certain outcome. Persistent marine layer and onshore flow suppressed temperatures along the coast, preventing the extreme inland heat seen earlier in the month when highs reached 99°F. This pattern matches climatological norms for mid-September, with average highs near 76°F and frequent low-cloud influence limiting afternoon warming. Model consensus and real-time surface data reinforced these moderate readings, leaving little room for revision. A measurement error at the official station or an unusually strong offshore wind event would be required to shift the result into the 82–83°F bin.
