Recent polling averages for New Zealand's November 7, 2026, general election under the MMP system show both major parties below 30-35% support, with Labour and National each projected around 36-39 seats in tight contests. The Labour-led left bloc (including Greens and Te Pāti Māori) edges ahead in several surveys due to gains by minor parties like The Opportunities Party, which National has ruled out partnering with, while the incumbent National-ACT-NZ First coalition holds advantages in others amid debates over immigration reforms and economic policy. Trader consensus reflects this near-even split and Labour's recent polling resilience, though outcomes hinge on final voter turnout, coalition negotiations, and late shifts among smaller parties.
