Recent National Weather Service and model guidance point to a Friday with morning low clouds and fog transitioning to sunny conditions under light onshore flow, supporting highs in the mid-80s across much of the Los Angeles basin. These values sit several degrees above the late-September climatological average near 76°F, driven by a shrinking marine layer and weak pressure gradients that limit sea-breeze cooling. Market-implied odds favoring 76–81°F likely reflect trader emphasis on coastal station variability, potential for deeper morning stratus, or localized marine-layer strengthening that could cap the official daily maximum. With resolution tied to the next 24-hour forecast cycle, any shift in GFS or ECMWF runs or observed gradients could quickly adjust probabilities.
