Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for Houston points to an overnight low in the upper 70s to low 80s on September 17, driven by persistent high dew points near 75°F, light easterly flow, and limited radiational cooling under partly cloudy skies following daytime heating to the low 90s. Afternoon thunderstorm chances around 50% may enhance cloud cover and briefly suppress temperatures, yet the overall pattern reflects late-summer warmth exceeding the 1991–2020 September average low of roughly 72°F. Market-implied odds cluster tightly around 78–81°F because traders weigh these humid, stable conditions against potential model shifts in steering flow or convective timing before the 24-hour period closes.
