This market will resolve according to the party of the candidate who wins the AZ-05 congressional district seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2026 midterm elections. The midterm elections will take place on November 3, 2026. A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).Mark Lamb holds a commanding lead in the Arizona 5th Congressional District general election due to the seat's consistent Republican lean and his July primary victory. The East Valley district, which supported the Republican presidential nominee by roughly 20 points in 2024 and has elected GOP representatives by wide margins for years, favors the party's nominee in a midterm cycle. Lamb secured the nomination with about 59 percent against a self-funded challenger despite prior allegations of misconduct that drew local scrutiny but produced no criminal findings from county prosecutors. His endorsements from President Trump and aligned groups reinforced support among primary voters. Elizabeth Lee, the Democratic nominee and a nurse who prevailed in her primary, faces structural headwinds in a district rated solid or safe Republican by multiple forecasters. Late developments such as unexpected scandals, turnout shifts, or national events could narrow the gap, though the current margin reflects the district's partisan baseline and limited time before the November 3 contest.
