Anthropic continues its rapid iteration within the Claude 4 family, most recently launching Opus 4.8 on May 28 with gains in reliability, agentic judgment, computer-use benchmarks, and efficient tool calling alongside new features like dynamic workflows in Claude Code. No model officially branded Claude 5 has been announced or released, consistent with the company's pattern of incremental 4.x updates since early 2026 rather than a full generational leap. Speculation around a potential Claude 5 or equivalent major release in Q2–Q3 2026 stems from historical cadence between major versions, internal codenames such as Fennec, and competitive pressures from other large language model developers. Traders should monitor official Anthropic announcements for shifts in timeline or naming conventions that could clarify resolution criteria.

For this market to resolve to "Yes," Claude 5 must be launched and publicly accessible, including via open beta or open rolling waitlist signups. A closed beta or any form of private access will not suffice. The release must be clearly defined and publicly announced by Anthropic as being accessible to the general public.
Claude 5 refers to a product explicitly named Claude 5 (e.g. Claude 5.0 would count), or one that is recognized as a successor to Claude 4, similar to the progression from Claude 2 to Claude 3. Products labeled as Claude 4.5 or similar will not count for this market's resolution.
The primary resolution source for this market will be official information from Anthropic, with additional verification from a consensus of credible reporting.
