Persistent northeast winds and extensive cloud cover from a lingering weather pattern are driving the National Weather Service forecast for a Chicago high near 64°F on September 21, well below the late-September climatological average of about 74°F. Multiple model runs and official guidance converge on mid-60s readings with only a slight morning shower chance, supporting the market's heavy weighting toward the 64-65°F bin at 48.5% implied probability. The adjacent 62-63°F and 66-67°F outcomes each hold 24.5%, reflecting minor uncertainty in exact peak timing and boundary-layer mixing. No significant model divergence or rapid pattern shift appears imminent before the daily maximum is recorded.
