Cloud cover and a strengthening marine layer are the dominant factors capping Seattle's daytime heating on September 12, keeping the maximum temperature in the mid-to-upper 60s°F according to National Weather Service and NOAA guidance. Persistent overcast skies limit solar insolation while light northwest winds and high humidity from Puget Sound suppress warming, producing forecast highs near 67°F with only a slight late-day rain chance. This aligns with recent model consensus and places the market's leading 66-69°F bins at the center of expected outcomes, though minor timing differences in any partial clearing or drizzle could shift the peak by 1-2°F. Historical September averages near 71°F underscore how the current stable, moist pattern deviates from climatology, creating tight clustering around these bins as traders weigh the latest observational trends.
