Benedita da Silva (PT) holds the clearest edge in trader pricing for first place in Rio de Janeiro’s October 4 Senate contest, consistent with her repeated numerical leads in recent polling. Surveys from late August and early September, including Real Time Big Data and Quaest, place her ahead or tied at the top of consolidated first-and-second vote totals, typically in the low-to-mid teens alongside Marcelo Crivella (Republicanos), with Pedro Paulo (PSD) and Carlos Jordy (PL) close behind. The fragmented field—seventeen registered candidates—produces heavy vote splitting on the right and elevated shares of undecided and blank/null responses, sustaining tight positioning among the main contenders. High name recognition for da Silva and Crivella, combined with the two-vote system, has kept separation modest through early September. Further separation would likely require late campaign momentum, major endorsements, or shifts in turnout among defined voter blocs.
