Current National Weather Service and ensemble model guidance for Austin on September 5 points to a high in the mid-90s, driven by continued southerly flow, high dew points near 75°F, and partly cloudy skies with only a slight afternoon thunderstorm chance. Recent days have featured highs near or above 98°F under similar patterns, but a modest cooling trend and increased cloud cover are expected to cap the peak. Historical September 5 averages near 94°F provide climatological context, while model spread and timing of any convection introduce uncertainty around the exact maximum. These conditions underpin trader consensus around the 94–97°F range as the most probable resolution.
